The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Population and Territory publishes today in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) the order that establishes the procedure for access by owners of agricultural holdings to loans guaranteed by the Centralized Management Financial Instrument financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) 2014-2022 in Extremadura.
This establishes access to loans guaranteed by this instrument within the framework of improvement and modernization of agricultural holdings for eligible investment or set of investments, according to requirements and guidelines.
The loans will be co-financed by European funds and will be intended to support agricultural holdings in the Community that meet the requirements established by Thursday's order.
Natural or legal persons, jointly owned farms, communities of property and hereditary holdings, owners of a priority agricultural holding, those who are registered as an active farmer, with farms whose size exceeds 20 agricultural work units (UTA) and hire at least the equivalent of 10 full-time workers in the agricultural activity annually during the commitment period and commit to carrying out a first transformation of their production in Extremadura.
INVESTMENTS
Also, young farmers, owners of farms, who are set up for the first time as defined in Article 2 of Regulation (EU) 1305/2013.
The calculation of the technical and economic viability of the operation will be carried out by the investigating body through an economic study, which will take into account not only the productive activities, the means of production and the planned investments and requirements of the operations supported by the financial instrument.
These subsidies aim to reduce costs, improve, reorient, and increase the quality of production while complying with environmental, hygiene, and animal welfare regulations.
Investments eligible for subsidies include the construction, acquisition and improvement of real estate, purchase of machinery, implementation of perennial crops, project costs, working capital expenses, among others.
AMOUNTS
The call establishes a minimum loan amount of 10,000 euros and a maximum of 600,000 euros, according to the conditions set out in the DOE.
Interested parties must submit their application for recognition of the right to the loan using the annex to the order, preferably completing it through the portal of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Population and Territory of the
Junta de Extremadura with the Arado application at the following link: http://www.juntaex.es/con03/.
Applications should be addressed to the General Directorate of Community Agricultural Policy, and it is an open call; they can be submitted starting 10 working days after its publication.
By making these loans available, the Regional Government of Extremadura continues to establish new tools that provide liquidity to the agricultural sector, in this case with a new instrument aimed at established agricultural holdings in the region and professionals in the field.
