Project for the installation of a photovoltaic solar power system for the Municipal Agricultural Company of Guareña SA to supply energy to irrigation equipment, with a peak power of 111 kW.
Work done
The following work was carried out for the execution of this project: • Calculation and design of the irrigation system. • Design and installation of photovoltaic panels on suspended structures and on the ground with a concrete structure. • Design and installation of pumping and filtration equipment for a mixed farm of processing tomatoes, pumpkins, almonds, and olives. • Design and installation of the photovoltaic system to supply energy to the booster pumps.
Characteristics of the farm
The filtration system and photovoltaic plant supply irrigation water for: • 60 hectares of cereal and vegetable crops (corn, processing tomatoes, squash, etc.). • 40 hectares of intensively cultivated almond trees. • 40 hectares of stone fruit trees (plum trees)..
Objective and advantages
Transformation of the farm's energy sources, which previously relied on combustion engines to power the pumping equipment. The system was redesigned and modified to power the pumping equipment with photovoltaic energy; this resulted in significant savings in the farm's energy costs and, therefore, a faster return on investment.
